Infinity scarf

Levei umas semanas para terminar este cachecol, mas 300 malhas depois e quase 90 voltas ele ficou pronto. Ontem à noite rematei-o, molhei-o e enrolei-o numa toalha para que a malha ficasse esticada. Hoje foi só coser o lado que estava aberto e já pode ser usado :-)

Acho que vou fazer um para mim...pois este não vai ficar nas minhas mãos, isto é, no meu pescoço!

It took me a few weeks to finish this knitted scarf, but 300 stiches and nearly 90 rows after it's ready to be worn. Last night I  finished it, wetted it and rolled it up on a towel in order to block it. Today I only had to sew the open side.

I think I'm going to knit one for myself...as this is not staying in my hands, I mean, my around my neck!

Favourite places: Regent's Park

Ontem tirei o dia para passear por Regent's Park. O tempo esteve ameno e o sol brilhou lá alto no céu. Ainda bem que aprooveitei, pois hoje chegou a chuva e está com ar de que veio para ficar.

Yesterday I spent the day wandering around Regent's Park and looking at its wonderful gardens. The weather was nice and the sun was shining. I'm happy I did it yesterday because the rain has just arrived and it looks like it's going to stay.

Welcome Autumn

Aqui já se faz sentir a mudança de estação. As mãos já andam mais frias que o habitual e a ponta do nariz fica gelada com o friozinho da manhã. Não tarda muito estarei a ligar o aquecimento - não, não estou a exagerar!

Também a natureza anuncia a passagem do tempo e se os canteiro ainda estão frondosos, muito por obra da mão humana, a cor das folhas das árvores e no chão não deixa mentir...

Weather is changing with the season. My hands are colder than usual and my nose nearly freezes in the morning. It won't be long until I have to turn the heat on - no, I'm not over reacting!

Mother nature is also showing some signs. The flower beds are still beautiful, due to the hardwork of many gardeners, but the colour of the leaves on the trees and on the floor do not lie...

Weekly planner

Revirei o Pinterest e o Google à procura de um template que desse simplesmente para imprimir, mas não encontrei nada que  fosse do meu agrado, quer visualmente, quer no layout. Deste modo, e em menos tempo do que o que perdi na pesquisa fiz aquilo de que preciso. Apenas necessitei de uma cartolina, lápis de cor e uma caneta de contorno :-)

I've turned Pinterest  and Google upside downlooking for a printable template but I couldn't find anything that I really liked or needed. So, I grabbed by drawing materials and in less time than the one I spent seaching I made my own planner for the purposes I need. I only used paper, colour pencils and a lining pen.

WIP:Knitting an infinity scarf

Ando com um cachecol entre mãos que quero terminar o mais rápido possível, pois não tarda muito o frio está aí :-)

Ao todo são 300 malhas que tenho nas agulhas e é nestas alturas que lemento não ter comprado um destes conjuntos de tricot, uma vez que têm cabos de diversos tamanhos e com comprimento suficiente para tantas malhas, mas achei que não me iriam fazer falta, pois não sou uma tricotadeira por aí além. Cada volta leva uma eternidade a fazer, mas estou a gostar do resultado. A barra amarela estou a fazer em ponto de bago de arroz e na barra azul estou a tricotar uns abertos simples que tirei de um livro que comprei há uns meses. 

I've been making this scarf and I wish to finish it as soon as possible because the cold winter days are just around the corner :-)

In total I have 300 stiches in this cable needles which makes it hard to work - I wish I had bought this set of interchangeable needles but I thought I would never use them as don't knit that often. Each round takes forever to finish, but I'm enjoying the look of it. I'm using a moss stitch for the yellow yarn and a very simple lace pattern from a book I bought a few months ago for the blue yarn.

Embora não tenha investido nas tais agulhas, e quando comecei com a mania do tricot, comprei alguns utensílios que me têm ajudado e sem dúvida que os que mais uso e que recomendo vivamente são estas borrachinhas que se colocam nas pontas para as malhas não escaparem - acreditem que me têm salvado de alguns desgostos.

Although I didn't buy those needles, when I (re)started knitting I bought a few very useful accessories including these point protectors which avoid the stiches from escaping the needles - and believe me: these have been very very useful!

Favourite Places: Borough Market

O tempo ainda está a meu favor :-) por isso aproveitei o fim-de-semana para passear.

No Sábado fui dar uma volta pelo Borough Market - não ía lá desde Janeiro - e ver de perto o que é considerado o edifício mais alto da Europa, o Shard.

O mercado é maravilhoso, mas eu sou suspeita para falar do assunto, pois adoro-os. É feito para turistas e não só, pois havia muitos locais a abastecerem a sua despensa de frutas e legumes. Quanto ao Shard, é mesmo enooorrmmeeeee!

O caminho de regresso fi-lo a pé, à beira do rio com paragens na Tate e no Southbank Centre, mas isso é assunto para outro post.

The weather is still on my side :-) so I spent the weekend wandering aroung and went for some long walks.

On Saturday I went to Borough Market - which I had visited in January - and to see from a small distance which is considered the tallest building in Europe - the Shard.

The market is wonderful - but I'm not the right person to talk about markets, as I love them. There wer lots of tourits and many locals as well who were filling their pantries with fresh fruits and vegetables. Regarding The Shard, it's really taaaalllllll!

I walked all the way back by the river side and I stopped at the Tate and at Southbank Centre, but for that I'll have to write another post.

38th B-Day

Ontem foi o meu aniversário e comemorei-o da melhor maneira que consegui - longe da família e dos que me são queridos, acreditem que a vontade não era muita, mas consegui dar a volta por cima e acabou por ser um dia cheio de mimos. 

Um bolo inteiro era demasiado, uma vez que teria de o comer quase sozinha, assim passei pela Peggy Porschen e comprei uma fatia de Red Velvet - apesar de tudo, anivesário sem bolo, não é aniversário, right? Não sobrou nem uma migalha...

Yesterday it was my birthday and I celebrated it the best way I could - far from the family and dear friends, believe me I wasn't very much on the mood, but I managed to get over it and in the end I had a lovely day.

A whole cake would be too much for me - than I would have to eat it all, so I stoped at Peggy Porschen and I bought a delicious slice of Red Velvet Cake - despite all a Birthday wouldn't be it without a cake, right?

Back to work

A manta de crochet está a ser feita muuiittoooo d-e-v-a-g-a-r (acho que estou a sofrer de uma overdose de rosetas de crochet!), por isso tive de começar algo novo - é que eu não consigo estar parada muito tempo e os momentos em que estou de volta dos meus crafts são aqueles que mais prazer me dão. As cores não são novas e eu bem tento variar, mas o meu coração bate mais forte quando olho para elas e por mais que pegue noutras, as mãos vão sempre buscar as mesmas...

Ontem o dia esteve lindo - se não me engando deve ter sido o último do Verão! - os parque estavam cheios e foi com alguma dificuldade que encontrei lugar numa sombra em Green Park onde estive sentada a ler, tricotar e, simplesmente, a olhar quem passava.

My crochet blanket is growing at a very s-l-o-w pace (I'm suffering from a granny squares overdose!) so I had to start something new - I can't stop for long and it's when I'm crafting that I'm happier. The colour pallete is not new but my heart beats faster when I look at them and even if I try to choose something different my hands always reach for the same...

Sunday was gorgeous - if I'm not wrong it must have been the last day of Summer - the parks were crowded and it was difficult to find a free shade at Green Park where to sit. Fortunately I found it and I spent a few hours reading, knitting and looking at people around me.

I'm back in London!

Não sei. Não consigo explicar. Ao percorrer as ruas de Londres tenho a sensação de que já cá vivi. Noutra vida, quiçá - como se eu acreditasse nisso!

Cheguei e fui direitinha às revistas :-) Trouxe só três - é que é difícil seleccionar, acreditem.

A Mollie Makes já é uma compra habitual, bem como a Oh Comely que envio para a minha irmã. A The Simple Things é nova, saiu hoje e é D-E-L-I-C-I-O-S-A! Vou, com certeza tornar-me uma leitora regular, pois se mantiver a qualidade vale bem as quase 5 libras que custa.

I'm back in London!

I don't know. I can't explain. When I wander around the streets of London everything looks so familiar that it feels that I've already lived here. In another life - if only I believed in that!

I got here and went straight to the newsagent :-) I bought only three magazines - it's hard to choose, believe me.

I usually buy Mollie Makes and Oh Comely, which I usually send to my sister in Portugal. The Simple Things has just came out and it's simply DELICIOUS! I'm sure I'll buy it every month if it maintains its quality it's well worth the £5 it costs.
