As malas de pintura são realmente qualquer coisa! E depois da que fiz para a B. já tenho estas duas prontas e uma terceira a caminho. Estas não vão para a loja, mas quem quiser obter informações sobre as mesmas poderá enviar-nos um e-mail.

These art pouches are really something! After the one I made for B, I sewn these two and  there's a third one to be finished. They won't be displayed in our shop, but if you want to receive information about them, just send us an e-mail.

É já amanhã o Mercadinho de Verão em Cacela Velha. Ao contrário do anterior que decorreu durante o dia, este vai ser a partir do meio/final da tarde, que se espera ... chuvoso :-((( Pode ser que não...

Não tive muito tempo para produzir um sock "decente", mas à vossa espera estarão babetes, clutches e algumas carteirinhas. Apareçam - caso não chova! - e venham fazer-nos uma visita :-)))

Summer Market in Cacela Velha. This one will be in the evening, not during the day as the last we attended, but against all odd, there's rain forecasted for tomorrow :-((( Fingers crossed!

I didn't have much time to prepare a lot of items, but with us you'll find bibs, clutches and small pouches. Come over - in case it doesn't rain - and visit ut:-)))

*Não acredites em tudo o que vês* "Don't believe everything you see*

Ainda me estou a habituar a uma alimentação sem glúten; e quando ao "sem glúten", se acrescenta o "sem ovos" e "sem lactose", acreditem que não é fácil. Qualquer dia transformo-me num coelho!!!

No supermercado os produtos custam o triplo do preço dos normais, e ocupam apenas um cantinho insignificante da prateleira. Ainda assim, levo imenso tempo a olhar para eles a pegar nas embalagens, a ler todos os ingredientes. Ponho e tiro do cesto umas quantas vezes!!!

No meio disto tudo há ainda o factor "deixa cá experimentar isto", e foi o que fiz ontem: leite de arroz feito em casa - vai ter de ser aperfeiçoado, mas que tem bom aspecto e sabe muito bem, lá isso sabe :-)

I'm still getting used to a "gluten free" diet and when to this you have to add "egg free" and "lactose free" meals, believe me that is not easy. One of these days I'll become a rabbit!!! ;-)

At the supermarket these sort of products treble the price and the variety is minimal. Even though I spent a lot of time looking at the shelf, picking up packs, putting them back, reading all the ingredients. Shopping takes forever!!!

Nevertheless I've been making some experiences and yesterday I made some rice milk - I need to improve it but not only looks good, but also tastes wonderful :-)

Cá em casa espera-se ansiosamente por esta altura do ano. Não só pelos dias longos, a possibilidade de jantar no quintal, ou as manhãs na praia, mas especialmente pelas figueiras que ficam c-a-r-r-e-g-a-d--i-n-h-a-s de figos: agora são os lampos, daqui a algum tempo são os pingo de mel. Não há como resistir-lhes! Engordam, pois!, mas como diz a mãe "é só uma vez por ano" :-)))

Quase todos os dias apanhamos uma cesta e não sei como, no dia seguinte já não há nenhum para contar história... A "primeira camada" está quase no fim, mas daqui a umas semanas haverá mais e muitos disponíveis para serem apanhados.

We dream about this time of the year, all year long. Not only because the days are longer, or because we can have dinner in the terrace, or we can go to the beach, but also and especially because our fig trees are f-u-l-l of delicious figs. They are irresistible!!! They are too caloric, but as my mother says: "it's only once a year" :-)))

Almost every day we fill up a basket and as per a big mistery they all disappear... The first crop is almost at the end, but in a few weeks time they will be ready to be harvested again.

Quando os assuntos são "experiências" e "novidades", a minha cobaia preferida é a B.! Se calhar não é a melhor opção, pois ela gosta de tudo o que eu lhe faço, mas de todas, é a melhor.

Há dias encontrei um tutorial para uma bolsa que pode ser um verdadeiro tesouro, pois consegue levar um bloco e umas canetas ou lápis sem que este material tenha de ir parar à já pesada mala das mãe. E ele há lá maior entretenha para uma criança do que um par de desenhos? Além do mais pode ser bastante educativo e puxa pela criatividade. Escolhidos os tecidos (ela adora cor de laranja!) foi só seguir as instruções.

When the subject regards "experiences" and "novelties", my favourite victim is B.! May be she's not the best choice because she loves everything I make her, but from all the available ones, she is the best.

A few days ago I found a tutorial for a purse that can become a real treasure, as it is prepared to carry a note pad and some felt pens or crayons. Chosen the fabrics (she loves orange!) I only had to follow the instructions.

Santo António de Lisboa

Aqui em Lisboa a noite de Santo António é festejada em grande. Por toda a cidade há arraiais e - imaginem! - festas privadas nas ruas. Por todo o lado imperam a cor e os manjericos! Ao fim da tarde deixa de haver trânsito e as ruas enchem-se de gente, gente, gente que nunca mais acaba. A tradição sugere uma ida às marchas, e os amigos uma ida a um bailarico. No dia seguinte quase não há vestígios de festa, e junto à igreja aguarda-se a procissão.

Eu tomei o gosto pelo bairro da Bica, e quiçá no próximo não tenho uma participação mais activa... ;)

Here in Lisbon the night of Saint Anthony is celebrated in style. Throughout the city there are parties and - can you imagine? - private parties in the streets. Colour is everywhere the smell of basil is wonderfull! Late in the afternoon there is no longer traffic and the streets fill up with people, people, people that never ends. Tradition suggests a journey to see the popular parades, and friends a trip to a jigging. The following day there are almost no traces of the party, and next to the Saint Anthony's church people await  for the procession.

I like the Bica neighborhood, and maybe next year I'll have a more active participation... ;)

*Amola tesouras* *"Scissors sharpener"*

O amola tesouras é daquelas figuras que remontam à minha infância e me trazem de volta o cheiro de casa da avó - a alfazema nas gavetas, ou o sabão derretido na pedra to tanque - pois era lá que se fazia ouvir sempre que o tempo anunciava mudança. Dizia ela, que a passagem desta figura tão popular trazia chuva na bagagem e, invariavelmente, não era preciso esperar muito tempo para que chovesse. 

Agora, noutra casa, noutra rua e numa cidade diferente o amola tesouras faz, novamente, parte de alguns dos meus dias. Se calhar até nem fala português, mas o toque que o anuncia é exactamente o mesmo!

One of the things that takes me back to my childhood is the sound of the "scissors sharpener" passing my grandmother's house - that and the smell of lavender in the drawers or the soap on the stone washing basin - whose visit would always meant a weather change. She used to say that this man brought the rain in his luggage.

Now, in a different house, in a different street and in another town, this character is again part of some of my days. May be doens't speak portuguese anymore, but the music he plya to tell that he's around is still the same...

*Nós na TV*

A noite já ía tardia quando o Iniciativa foi para o ar. A excitação e a curiosidade venceram o sono que já se fazia sentir e assim houve quem ficasse até tarde a ver o programa, inclusivamente alguém que teve a simpatia de nos enviar o video da peça onde aparecemos.

Aqui está ele para quem não viu :-)))

It was late when the tv programm was broadcasted but the curiosity and the excitment won over the rest. We have to thank to a friend who send us the video. And here it is for you to watch :-)))

O resultado foi dado pelo random.org e acreditem que é com alguma tristeza que não conseguimos premiar todas as pessoas que aqui passam. Por outro lado, foi com uma felicidade enorme que vi quem era a feliz contemplada - desculpem-me os demais, mas não consegui ficar indiferente - , pois as bolsinhas irão directamente para o Reino Unido para as mãos de uma amiga de infância há pouco tempo reencontrada graças ao Facebook. :-))) M.J., vou já enviar-te um e-mail!

...em frente à televisão, se quiserem matar a alguma curiosidade sobre nós e sobre o espaço onde trabalhamos. Já não falta muito, e amanhã no programa Iniciativa,na RTP2, teremos os nossos "três minutos de fama" (ficam a faltar sete para o número standard, mas nós não temos pressa :-)))

Ao contrário do habitual, o programa não irá para o ar às 19h, mas sim à 1:28 (!!!), devido à transmissão em directo do concerto de abertura do mundial de futebol - sempre o futebol... Nós sabemos que é tarde, mas há sempre alternativas: o programa repete no Domingo às 14h no mesmo canal, podem programar o cabo-fibra-o que quer que seja para gravar, ou então esperam até que a emissão fique disponível online.

A peça foi gravada há mais de um mês e, só vos digo que foi um dia muito bem passado! Com direito a mirones e tudo.

Não podemos deixar de agradecer à Catarina, que nos contactou e nos surpreendeu com a proposta (afinal não é só aos outros que acontecem coisas boas; e não, não tivemos qualquer cunha; simplesmente aconteceu); à Sandra, pela sua simpatia, gentileza e disponibilidade; e ao Paulo pela sua boa disposição e profissionalismo e que nos deixou tão à vontade perante a câmera. Gostava que as imagens falassem por si, mas não consigo ficar quieta só a olhar, sem dizer nada :-) Os cupcakes estão, definitivamente, na moda e apesar de já haver alguns spots em Lisboa que os vendem, acreditem que nenhuns chegam aos calcanhares dos da Tease. Querem saber porquê?

são deliciosos - (in)felizmente não provei todos...

são muito frescos e fofos

não têm sabor de bolo empacotado

não são demasiado doces

as coberturas não têm aquele gosto exagerado a manteiga, nem têm aquelas cores vibrantes que parece terem levado um tubo de guache em cima :-)

e são tãoooooo bonitos!!! (quem os decora não é só pasteleiro, é verdadeiramente artista)

Não acreditam??? Então passem por lá. Provem. Deliciem-se. E depois venham falar comigo. Combinado?

I could just shut my mouth and let the images speak for themselves, but that wouldn't be me :-) Cupcakes are really in and despite the several different spots existing in Lisbon, Tease is definetly the best one!!! Do you want to know why?

they are delicious - (un)fortunately I didn't taste all the varieties

they are fresh and fluffy

they don't taste to supermarket packed cakes

they are not too sweet

the frostings are balanced, they don't have that awfull buttery feel and they don't have those bright colours form a tin of paint :-)

and they are sooooooooo pretty!!! (they are made by an artist, for sure!)

Há imenso tempo que não actualizava a loja. Hoje coloquei lá duas clutches perfeitas para o Verão :-)

It's not easy to offer presents to someone who has everything, without being repetitive, that's why I always make something for B, because it's not only different but mainly because she likes it - yes, I'm a proud godmother :-)))
