A partir de hoje e até dia 20 de Dezembro todas as compras feitas na nossa loja serão enviadas devidamente embrulhadas, prontas para serem abertas no dia de Natal.

Quem quiser encomendar t-shirts terá de se apressar, pois só recebemos pedidos até dia 8 de Dezembro.

From today until the 20th of December all the items from our shop will be sent to buyers beautifully wrapped, ready to be opened on Christmas Eve.

If you wish to order a t-shirt, you'll have to hurry as we will only accept orders until the 8th of December.

*O frio já chegou* *Winter is here*

Quem não gosta de se sentir confortável e quentinho durante o Inverno que levante o dedo....Bem me parecia...não vejo mãos no ar.

Quem não gosta de lenços, echarpes, cachecóis? Hummm, parece-me que a resposta é igual à anterior :-)

E quem é que não se debate constantemente com as pontas dos cachecóis que, ora fazem muito volume para ficarem bem enroladas, ora ficam penduradas a ver-se bebaixo dos casacos, ora ficam presas nos lugares mais estranhos?

Foi a pensar nisto tudo que a Vânia desenvolveu estas golas confeccionadas a partir de fazenda de lã, algodão e melton. Têm a particularidade de serem reversíveis, além de serem muiitoooo quentinhas.

Querem saber onde é que ela se inspirou? Então vão ter de esperar pelo próximo post :-), não é mana?

Thinking about all these issues, Vânia developed these cowls made out of tweeds, cottons and melton. They are not only reversible, but also very comfortable.

Lisboa e Faro: a mana lá e eu cá, certo? Há quem nos pergunte como é que funciona o blog assim. Nem nós sabemos bem, mas a prova de que resulta são as novas golas que acabaram de ser expostas no Etsy :-)

It's been dark and rainy all day which tells us that the Autumn is here, and all the fresh clothes need to be put apart and that the cold is arriving soon. After the rush hours of leaving work, I found myself wandering around Etsy in search of colours that calm my spirit down :-)

Hoje era o que me apetecia fazer. Acreditem! Para quê? Para servir de modelo às golas que acabei de fazer e que vão ter de esperar uns dias para serem devidamente fotografadas. É que nem toda a gente tem direito a "anjos", não é mana?

Estão prontas, engomadas e rematadas. Na próxima semana serão colocadas na loja - até lá, se quiserem informações sobre as mesmas poderão enviar-nos um e-mail.

This is what I feel like doing. Believe me! What for? To model these cowls which I've just finished and will have to wait a few days to be photographed. "Angels" are not for everyone, isn't it sister?

O fim-de-semana não chega para tudo e o sair de manhã e chegar à noite também não ajuda, assim, as fotografias que deveriam ser tiradas durante o dia, acabam por ser relegadas para último e só consigo ter tempo à noite. Ainda assim, não ficaram mal :-)

Acabadinhas de chegar à nossa loja estão estas duas bandoletes que têm tudo a ver com os dias frios que estão para vir.

The weekend is not enough for everything we want to do, leaving in the morning and retirning in the evening doesn't help either, so the pictures that should be taken during the day end up being shot when it's dark already. Even so, they're not bad :-)

Thes two headbands have just been put on display on our shop and feel very cosy for the winter days that are on the way.

... para arrumar os meus tecidos! Como tal tenho de lhes dar uso para depois renovar o stock.

Nunca compro muita quantidade de cada tecido, ainda assim há alguns que tenho alguma dificuldade em acabar: ou porque gosto muito dele e tenho pena de o usar, ou porque me falta um segundo para combinar.

As pequenas bolsas de patchwork foram uma forma que encontrei para" prolongar a vida" aos meus tecidos preferidos, e não me canso de as fazer.

I  never buy a big yardage of each fabric, even though there are some which I have great difficulty in finishing, either because I really love it, or because it doesn't match any other one.

By making little patchwork pouches I found the solution to "make longer the life" of my favourite fabrics; and you know what? I cannot get enough of them!

Etsy Europe

Este centro comercial gigantesco nasceu nos Estados Unidos, mas acaba de inaugurar um escritório na Alemanha, e para celebrar o acontecimento está a promover a "Semana Europeia 2010". Foi criado um selo e um link onde estão concentradas todas as lojas que se identifiquem como sendo europeias. Espreitem e vejam o que de melhor se produz no "velho continente"

This gigantic shopping centre first started in the United States, but has just opened an European office in Germany, and to celebrate this event they are running a Euro Week 2010. A badge has been created and a page featuring all the european shops is accessible to every visitor. Take a look around and see the best of handmade in Europe.

Quando não se tem, inventa-se! E foi isso que fiz esta tarde para fotografar algumas das pregadeiras que tenho andado a fazer. Ainda propus à "Senhora C." que fosse minha modelo, mas ela sorriu e continuou a andar :-)))

When you don't have exactly what you need the best option is to improvise! And that's what I've been doing this afternoon to shoot some of the corsages I've been making. I proposed one of my old neighbours to model for me, but she walked away giggling :-)))

Ida às compras # Shopping trip

Há pelo menos quatro anos que me habituei a ter na mala ou no carro um saco de pano para levar aquelas pequenas compras que, por vezes faço ao final do dia, ou mesmo para levar o almoço para o escritório. Confesso que o que me moveu a tomar esta decisão , além das razões ambientais, foi o facto de que quando viajo de combóio, não há nada que me irrite mais do que pessoas a remexer em sacos de plástico barulhentos às seis da manhã...

 Vejo-os de diversas marcas e já comprei alguns, mas daí a confeccioná-los, foi um longo caminho. Há uns dias descobri este molde e não hesitei em pô-lo em prática. O resultado, para já são três sacos de compras todos disponíveis na nossa loja.

It's been at least four years that I got used to have in my bag or in the car a cloth shopper for those little items I usually buy on the way home back from work, or just to carry my luch to the office. What made me take this decision, appart from environmental reasons, was the fact that when I travel by train I hate to hear the plastic bags noise on the seat next to mine, especially if it is six o'clock in the morning...

Many brands have them and I've already bought some for myself, but from that to make some of my own it has been a long way. A few days ago I found this pattern and I couldn't resist in making some. From the ones I made, there are three available at our shop.

No fim-de-semana passado estive durante muito tempo a costurar. No fim do dia de Domingo sentia-me cansada e não sabia porquê... quer dizer, eu até sabia, mas enquanto trabalho naquilo de que gosto, parece que o cansaço não chega. Nem o cansaço, nem a sede, nem a fome. Será só comigo, ou também vos acontece? Parece que o mundo pára lá fora e não existe nada mais além dos metros quadrados que nos rodeiam.

Last weekend I spent quite a long time sewing. By the end of the day - on Sunday - I felt really tired and I couldn't figure out why...honestly I knew, but while I'm doing what really amuses me I don't get tired easily. I don't get tired, I'm not hungry nor thirsty. Does this only happen with me, or do you share the same sort of feeling? It looks like the world outside stops and that there is nothing beyond the few sqare metres around us.

Golas # Cowls

Lembram-se de umas golas que mostrei aqui há umas semanas? Muito quentinhas e confortáveis? Pois bem, como o frio e a chuva teimam em não se ir embora, resolvi adiar os artigos primaveris por mais uns dias - ou semanas... - e costurar três destes mesmos artigos. Assim que tiver oportunidade, irei fotografá-las individualmente para as colocar na loja, mas enquanto isso não acontece aqui fica um cheirinho. Are you reminded of two warm and comfortable cowls I posted a few weeks ago? Well, as the cold and the rain are still around I decided to delay the Spring collection for a few days - or weeks, who knows... - and sew three of these cowls. As soon as I have the opportunity, I'll take individual pictures of each one in order to put on our shop shelves, but while that doesn't happen here they are for you. Mais babetes # More bibs

O fim-de-semana foi produtivo, de tal maneira que as fotografias do que fiz ficaram para segundo plano.

Babetes e golas (eu sei, a Primavera está quase a chegar, mas enquanto o frio não se vai embora...) foram saíndo da máquina de costura para a lista dos itens disponíveis. Durante a semana espero conseguir listá-los ali.

The weekend was very productive, in such a way that I didn't have the opportunity to take any pictures. Bibs and cowls (I know, it's almost Spring time but while it's cold...) came out of the sewing machine directly to the list of the available items. I hope to list them during the next few days.

Tempo de mudança # Time for a change

O Carnaval já passou, as máscaras já estão arrumadas e é tempo de recomeçar a fazer alguma coisa. Entre um disfarce e outro, consegui fazer uma meia :-))) e a outra ja está começada. Não deu para mais, pois a folia foi mesmo muita. Ninguém imagina o quanto nos divertimos nesta altura: levamos o ano inteiro a planear o que vestir, mas na hora novos planos surgem e a surpresa é garantida.

E por falar em surpresas...

A surpresa até podia vir numa lata: Two Pink Sardines :-)))  -  está ainda em fase de instalação (faltam uns ajustes no banner), mas não pudemos deixar de inaugurar ontem a nossa loja nesse que é um dos maiores shopping centre do planeta, o Etsy. Deixamos aqui o convite para irem até lá, e para quem não conhece o Etsy, perca-se pelos corredores e veja quão bonitas são as coisas que se fazem por este planeta fora. Encontramo-nos lá, ok? Até já!

Tal como previsto no início do ano, mais mudanças estão a ser estudadas - dêem-nos mais umas semanas e elas serão visíveis :-)

Carnival is over and all costumes have been stored until next year. It's now time to restart working.

Beween one party and the other I managed to knit one sock and the other one is on it's way. I couldn't do more, as we had a lot of partying. No one can imagine how much fun we have during these days: we spend all year thinking about what costumes to wear, but on the spot we see and think of something else and it's a surprise for everyone.

And as we mention surprises...

This surprise could be in a foil tin :-))) Two Pink Sardines is now live and online. Still haven't guessed? It's our Etsy shop : It still needs a bit of make up, but the shelves are already being filled up with nice handmade items. Don't you know Etsy? Well, it is just one of the biggest online shopping centres in the world. If you've never been there, take your time, go there and enjoy the prettiest windows you can imagine. See you there!

As I mentioned early in the year some other changes will happen soon. They are being developed and in a few weeks they will be, finally, visible :-))
