Manta Portuguesa: Junho

Quando distribuímos os meses para a Manta Portuguesa, coube-me a mim o mês de Junho. Infelizmente não foi possível enviar os tecidos logo no início do mês, mas hoje dediquei a manhã a prepará-los e amanhã serão colocados no correio, juntamente com o bloco de Maio e com o sorteio que fizémos há semanas.

When the months for the Manta Portuguesa were sorted, I got June for myself. Unfortunately I didn't have the chance to send my fabrics on time, but this morning I spent a few hours preparing them and tomorrow they'll be on the post, together with the block from last month and the little giveaway we had a few weeks ago.

Manta Portuguesa III

Com quase duas semanas de atraso consegui, finalmente, terminar o bloco de Maio da Manta Portuguesa.

As únicas condições impostas eram: o quadrado com a aplicação deveria ficar no meio e o tamanho final deveria ser de 13 x13 polegadas.

Corta daqui, cose dali. Desmancha e volta a coser e ficou pronto! Espero que fique do agrado da destinatária :-)

With a delay of nearly two weeks, I finally managed to finish the May block from the Manta Portuguesa.

The only conditions were that the little suare with the butterfly should be in the middle and that the final size should be 13 x 13 inches.

Cut here, sew there. Unsew, sew again and it's finished! I hope my bee partner likes it!

Manta Portuguesa II

O segundo bloco está pronto a ser enviado, e este é para a Sofia.

Levei imenso tempo a decidir o que fazer com os tecidos, pois nada me ocorria, até que vi esta fotografia e pensei: é isto mesmo!!! E assim foi :-)

My second block for the portuguese quilting bee is finished and is this one is for Sofia.

It took me a while to decide what to do with the fabrics, but the moment I saw this picture I knew it was it!

Manta Portuguesa

Há tempos a Sofia e a Rosário propuseram-me participar num quilting bee exclusivamente português, e uma vez encerrado o grupo, já demos início ao processo. A Rosário, por ser a mais experiente tomou as rédeas e foi a primeira a enviar os tecidos para as restantes nove, os quais já me chegaram há duas semanas - nem de propósito o conjunto de cores é o meu preferido: rosa + verde! O tema é livre, e a única condição é o tamanho final,  e com o que recebi, fiz o meu melhor. O que vos parece?

Some time ago, Sofia and Rosário invited me to join a portuguese quilting bee, and once the group completed, we started it. Rosário was the first to sent the fabrics over to the rest of us and imagine how happy I was when I saw they were in my favourite colour combination: pink + green. The block pattern was free and the only condition was its the final size - here is mine, I did my best. What do you think of it?
