One of the cosiest things on a cold winter day is a cup of tea and some homemade cookies, and that's why, for Chritmas, I usually give my friends some sweet treats. Two years ago I baked some portuguese biscuits called "areias" and last year I made "cantucci".
For this Christmas I baked some simple butter cookies, which can be eaten with or without jam. These are delicious :-)
Mix the flour with the sugar. Add the butter and beat until soft. Add the egg and beat it again. Make small balls of dough and roll it. Make cookies with cookie cutters and bake in a pre-heated oven (180ºC) for about 15 minutes.
